How to Become a Part of WMTSP

The Willliam Monroe Trotter Scholar's Program (WMTSP) provides mentorship to Mattapan area 7th and 8th graders. In addition a comprehensive health, finance, and black history curriculum is taught as well. That's where you come in! We are currently looking for curriculum developers and workshop leaders. Workshops are something new that we are introducing in an effort to give people who may not be able to mentor consistently, to share something they are passionate about.

Curriculum Developers:

  • develop an interactive health, finance or black history curriculum
  • come up with an hour - hour 1/2 worth of material
  • make it relevant and interesting to 7th and 8th graders
  • on a range of topics from: sexual health, entrepeneurship, stocks, stereotypes...etc.

  • the time commitment would be all year, but it would be flexible
  • financial compensation available for those on work-study

Workshop Leaders:

  • develop an hour - hour 1/2 of material on a topic of ur choosing (topics can range from computer programming, to tshirt design, to yoga), it can really be any topic you would like
  • make it relevant to 7th and 8th graders
  • it would be a one-time commitment, (either one day or as long as you would like to run the workshop)
  • financial compensation available for those on work-study

If you are interested or have questions/suggestions/comments feel free to contact the director at wmtsp@harvardbsa.com.
